LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Village of Suffern Community Founda-
tion, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the
Father F. Peter Malet Award by the Rockland County Youth Bureau

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those organizations and individuals from across
the State of New York who volunteer their time and energies in service
to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Village of Suffern Community Foundation, Inc. upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Father F. Peter Malet Award by the Rock-
land County Youth Bureau to be celebrated at its 29th Annual Youth Forum
and Awards Night on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Terrace on the Hudson,
Haverstraw, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Village of Suffern Community Foundation, Inc. is receiv-
ing the distinguished Father F. Peter Malet Award for all of the
outstanding volunteer work performed throughout Rockland County; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, the people who make up the organization who volunteer their
time in civic and charitable endeavors inspire others to the call of
volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Village of Suffern Community Foundation,
Inc. are such volunteers; they have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents and have always given of themselves unstintingly;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, the members of the Village of
Suffern Community Foundation, Inc. have stood constant in dignity, good
grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which they have displayed throughout their
lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an organ-
ization of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, it should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the
great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Village of Suffern Community Foundation, Inc. upon the occa-
sion of its designation as recipient of the Father F. Peter Malet Award
by the Rockland County Youth Bureau; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Village of Suffern Community Foundation, Inc.
