LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Remington Arms Company, Inc.
upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Business of the
Year Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Remington Arms Company, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Business of the Year Award by the Herkimer County Cham-
ber of Commerce on Thursday, April 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Remington Arms Company, headquartered in Madison, North Caro-
lina, designs, produces and sells sporting goods products for the hunt-
ing and shooting sports markets, as well as military, government and law
enforcement markets; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1816 in upstate New York, Remington Arms is one of
the nation's oldest continuously operating manufacturers; the Company is
the only United States manufacturer of both firearms and ammunition
products and one of the largest domestic producers of shotguns and
rifles; and
WHEREAS, A leader in the industry in which it serves, Remington Arms
had significant revenues in 2004, and distributes its products through-
out the United States and in over 55 foreign countries; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional organization and its contributions to the local
and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Remington Arms Company upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as recipient of the Business of the Year Award by the Herkimer
County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Remington Arms Company, Inc.
