LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Steven Silva upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by St. Catherine of Siena Medical
Center

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Steven Silva upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center on Friday, May 8, 2009;
and
WHEREAS, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center is a member of Catholic
Health Services of Long Island and is devoted to providing advanced
healthcare, in an environment of compassion, to its patients and their
families; and
WHEREAS, Steven Silva serves as the President and Chief Operating
Officer of Chem Rx Corporation, where he has worked for over 15 years;
responsible for overseeing all of Chem Rx's operations, he maintains
close contact with its significant clients and oversees the implementa-
tion of Chem Rx's technology platform; and
WHEREAS, Previously, Steven Silva worked for several California-based
motion picture entertainment companies where he focused on marketing and
publicity; he holds a B.A. degree in Communications from New York
University; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Steven Silva serves on the Board of
Directors of the Diabetes Research Institute and works closely with New
York University; he is the Managing partner of the New York Dragons
Arena Football League (AFL) team, and serves on the Board of Directors
of the AFL; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Shanna, and their
three sons, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Steven Silva upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Steven Silva.
