LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Hong Wah Restaurant upon the occasion
of being designated as having one of the 100 healthiest Chinese menus in
the country by the TOP 100 CHINESE RESTAURANTS DINING GUIDE

WHEREAS, Small businesses and their leaders who provide outstanding
services to the residents of this great Empire State are deserving of
the highest praise and recognition for their efforts; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Hong Wah Restaurant upon the occasion of being designated as having one
of the 100 healthiest Chinese menus in the country by the TOP 100
CHINESE RESTAURANTS DINING GUIDE; and
WHEREAS, Published by CHINESE RESTAURANT NEWS, the dining guide
surveys thousands of Chinese restaurants and creates top 100 lists that
range from best signature dish to best decor; and
WHEREAS, Hong Wah Restaurant stood out in the healthiest menu category
because of its special "Diet Menu" which features entrees that are
steamed rather than fried; the Hong Wah staff is also known for their
willingness to fill special orders and to take a few extra steps in
preparing virtually any menu item in a lighter fashion for the health-
conscious diner; in addition, healthy menu items often extend to daily
specials such as mango chicken or mango shrimp; and
WHEREAS, Located in Penfield, New York, Hong Wah Restaurant opened in
July of 2007, under the leadership of Vicky Shi and Kevin Zheng; togeth-
er, the husband and wife team have used their family recipes and years
of experience to create a special blend of sauces that has created a
countless number of loyal customers; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
support the entrepreneurs of small businesses whose dedication and
accomplishments contribute to the health and vitality of the communities
they serve in the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Hong Wah Restaurant upon the occasion of being designated as
having one of the 100 healthiest Chinese menus in the country by the TOP
100 CHINESE RESTAURANTS DINING GUIDE; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Vicky Shi and Kevin Zheng, Hong Wah Restaurant.
