LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 23rd Anniversary of The Bible
Speaks Church of Christ Academy of Brooklyn, New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose
exemplary programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate an enduring
pursuit of excellence in the spiritual education of the youth of this
noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 23rd Anniversary of The Bible Speaks Church of Christ Academy
of Brooklyn, New York, to be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2009; and
WHEREAS, This year's celebration will be entitled "Obedient to the
Heavenly Vision"; and
WHEREAS, For over two decades, The Bible Speaks Church of Christ Acad-
emy has been instrumental in assisting a wide spectrum of children;
especially noteworthy is the Academy's work with children who were
considered difficult or in need of special education; thanks to the
devotion of the Academy teachers and its excellent program, many of
these children are able to re-enter the public education system and
succeed; and
WHEREAS, The Bible Speaks Academy was founded by Pastor Willis Moses
in 1986, opening its doors on January 5, 1987; and
WHEREAS, The Academy opened with 35 students; the goal of the Academy
was, and still is, to provide children with a top-quality Christian
education that will make a positive and lasting difference in their
lives; and
WHEREAS, The Academy teaches with the belief that quality Christian
education produces children with a strong, true and rich character;
building a generation of children well-equipped to assume responsibil-
ities and authority in the home, in the church, and in business; and the
Bible-centered curriculum builds character that benefits not only the
child, but the home and society as well; and
WHEREAS, The Bible Speaks Church of Christ Academy of Brooklyn, New
York, is dedicated to teaching with spiritual, academic, and social
excellence so that each of its students may grow to become empowered to
create positive experiences in their communities and throughout the
world; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 23rd Anniversary of The Bible Speaks Church of Christ
Academy of Brooklyn, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Bible Speaks Church of Christ Academy.
