LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Joan Asch upon the occasion of receiving
the 2009 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Joan
Asch upon the occasion of receiving the 2009 SUNY Chancellor's Award for
Excellence in Classified Service; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Montebello, New York, Joan Asch has been with
SUNY Rockland Community College since 2005; prior to that, she provided
customer service for the Shubert Organization, a professional theater
company; and
WHEREAS, Providing outstanding service to students and faculty, Joan
Asch plays an active role on numerous SUNY Rockland Community College
committees and campus activities, including Women's History Month, the
American Heart Association and Habitat for Humanity; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Joan Asch's excellent communication and computer
skills have enabled her to take the lead in coordinating significant
projects for the faculty at SUNY Rockland Community College; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our schools;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Joan Asch and to wish her continued
success in all of her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joan Asch upon the occasion of receiving the 2009 SUNY
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joan Asch.
