LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the dedication of Lenox Road
Baptist Church's new worship and educational center

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of faith within the State of New York which
have served the residents of their community with exemplary dedication
and spiritual service, greatly adding to their quality of life; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the dedication of Lenox Road Baptist Church's new worship and
educational center, to be celebrated on Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Brook-
lyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, In order to fulfill this great mission, Lenox Road Baptist
Church launched its Capital Fund Campaign, an important part in fulfill-
ing its goal, "Vision Today...Service Tomorrow"; and
WHEREAS, Almost 13 years ago, Reverend Dr. Kirkpatrick Cohall served
as Pastor of Lenox Road Baptist Church; during these years, there has
been an unprecedented growth in the ministry, along with the completed
process of renovating and enlarging its worship and educational center;
and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Kirkpatrick Cohall has brought to his ministry
an overwhelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and
enlightenment in conducting his administrative and spiritual duties,
while always displaying the highest standards of personal and profes-
sional integrity and dedication; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when spiritual
institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the dedication of Lenox Road Baptist Church's new worship
and educational center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Dr. Kirkpatrick Cohall, Pastor, Lenox Road Baptist
Church.
