LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the Annual Meeting of the New York
State Rifle and Pistol Association, June 13, 2009

WHEREAS, Organizations and events which serve the interests of the
people of the Empire State merit the commendation of this Legislative
Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 2009 Annual Meeting of the New York State Rifle and Pistol
Association; this auspicious event will be held at the Wallkill Rod and
Gun Club, 316 Bruyn Turnpike, Wallkill, New York, on Saturday, June 13,
2009; and
WHEREAS, The 2009 Annual Meeting of the New York State Rifle and
Pistol Association is the fourth consecutive hosting of this prestigious
event by the Wallkill Rod and Gun Club; and
WHEREAS, This gathering will be a multi-dimensional event expected to
attract more than 1,000 visitors; and
WHEREAS, At least 40 separate entities will participate in the
program, including government agencies, clubs, conservation organiza-
tions and federations, military units and a variety of collectors; semi-
nars on deer management, survival techniques and firearms safety will be
featured, as well as a flag retirement ceremony; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the Annual Meeting will offer a variety of
participation activities for junior and senior guests, and many awards
will be presented; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the 2009 Annual
Meeting of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions and events of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to
our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 2009 Annual Meeting of the New York State Rifle and
Pistol Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association.
