LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Somers
Manor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions which would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and
its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of Somers Manor Nursing Home and Rehabili-
tation Center, to be celebrated on Wednesday, June 24, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Somers Manor Nursing Home believes in the principle that all
of the residents of its facility shall be afforded every opportunity to
continue to live as self-determining adults with their individuality
remaining intact; and
WHEREAS, Somers Manor Nursing Home's goal is to provide a home-like
atmosphere for all of its residents; it adheres to the belief that all
its residents have the right to pursue and achieve their social, psycho-
logical, cultural, biological, and spiritual goals; and
WHEREAS, Somers Manor Nursing Home offers an intensive physical reha-
bilitation program providing an aggressive therapy regimen designed to
meet the needs and ability of each resident; it offers individualized
cardiopulmonary, orthopedic, neurological and geriatric rehabilitation
programs; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Somers Manor Nursing Home and Reha-
bilitation Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Arnold Putterman, President, Somers Manor Nursing Home and
Rehabilitation Center.
