LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robert C. Honcharski upon the occasion
of his retirement as Principal of Camillus Middle School

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those illustrious individuals of distinguished purpose whose
lives have been committed to educating our youth; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor
Robert C. Honcharski upon the occasion of his retirement as Principal of
Camillus Middle School; and
WHEREAS, Robert Honcharski will retire from the West Genesee School
District on July 9, 2009, after 14 years of dedicated service as Princi-
pal of Camillus Middle School; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Honcharski graduated from Rutgers College with a Bach-
elor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education; he also
received his Master's degree, as well as his CAS degree from SUNY Oswe-
go, majoring in Educational Administration; and
WHEREAS, Prior to becoming Principal of Camillus Middle School, Robert
Honcharski served as Principal of Southern Cayuga Middle School in
Poplar Ridge, New York, for five years; previous to that, he worked for
the Weedsport Central Schools for 14 years; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Robert Honcharski served on the Board of Direc-
tors of the New York State Middle School Association for six years, and
was the chairperson for its statewide annual conference in Syracuse, New
York, in 1998; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Honcharski has also held positions on the Board of Direc-
tors of the Skaneateles Ski Club and the Cayuga-Onondaga Middle Level
Administration Association, and he is currently Vice-President of the
Skaneateles Country Club; and
WHEREAS, Upon retirement, Robert Honcharski plans to spend more time
with his family; he will enjoy the company of his wife, Barbara, son,
Paul, and his daughter, Beth; he will also have more time to enjoy some
of his favorite activities, including boating and woodworking, and he
plans on learning how to play golf; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Honcharski has served tirelessly over the past 14 years,
and will be greatly missed by all of the teachers, staff and students of
Camillus Middle School; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to pay
tribute to Robert C. Honcharski upon the occasion of his retirement as
Principal of Camillus Middle School; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert C. Honcharski.
