LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Jackie Carbonetto upon the occasion of
her designation as Performer of the Season in Girls' Bowling by THE
JOURNAL NEWS

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes pleasure in honoring talented high
school athletes who distinguish themselves and their community through
outstanding athletic performance; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of
fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commend Jackie Carbonetto upon the occasion of her designation as
Performer of the Season in Girls' Bowling by THE JOURNAL NEWS; and
WHEREAS, Tappan Zee senior, Jackie Carbonetto, is THE JOURNAL NEWS
girls' bowler of the year; her consistency helped Tappan Zee to post a
103-16 record for the season and finish fourth at the sectionals; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Carbonetto was the only girl, out of 116, at the New
York State tournament to bowl a 700 series, posting a 724 score which
included a 277, the highest game of the girls' tournament; and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice; Jackie Carbonetto's dedication to bowl-
ing is a year-round, everyday commitment; she is highly focused and has
developed a matchless work ethic; and
WHEREAS, Jackie Carbonetto's outstanding athleticism is reflective of
her dedication, determination and personal commitment; her achievements
stand as a hallmark of what is best in the families, schools and
communities across New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Jackie Carbonetto upon the occasion of her designation as
Performer of the Season in Girls' Bowling by THE JOURNAL NEWS, and to
congratulate her for the enduring honor she has brought to her family,
her school and her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jackie Carbonetto.
