LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Coach Jim Wright of Pine Bush High
School upon the occasion of his designation as 2008 TIMES HERALD-RECORD
Varsity 845 Football Coach of the Year

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize those individuals within our midst who have contributed great-
ly to the quality of our lives by providing exceptional leadership and
commitment to our youth; and
WHEREAS, It is acknowledged that athletic competition enhances the
moral and physical development of the young people of this State,
preparing them for the future by instilling in them the value of team-
work, encouraging a standard of healthy living, imparting a desire for
success and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and,
further, that excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit, all
of which actions are nurtured by dedicated coaching; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Coach Jim Wright of Pine Bush High School upon the occasion of his
designation as 2008 TIMES HERALD-RECORD Varsity 845 Football Coach of
the Year; and
WHEREAS, A 1987 Pine Bush High School graduate, Coach Jim Wright
received a Bachelor's degree in physical education and health from East
Stroudsburg University in 1992; he then earned a Master's degree in
special education from Mount Saint Mary College in 1995; and
WHEREAS, Coach Jim Wright guided the Pine Bush varsity football team
to a 7-2 record this past season; prior to becoming head coach, he spent
time as a Goshen JV coach, an Ellenville varsity assistant, and a coach
or assistant in various levels of the Pine Bush program; and
WHEREAS, Coach Jim Wright inspired his team throughout the year and
the Pine Bush varsity football team mirrored his exceptional and
successful coaching philosophy; and
WHEREAS, Coach Jim Wright and his wife, Kim, are the proud parents of
three beloved children: sons Christian, Eric and Jacob; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Coach Jim Wright of Pine Bush High School upon the occasion
of his designation as 2008 TIMES HERALD-RECORD Varsity 845 Football
Coach of the Year, and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Coach Jim Wright.
