LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Alexis H. Oltmer upon the occasion of
her designation as the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome 2009 Youth
of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and serve as role models
for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Alexis H. Oltmer upon the occasion of her designation as the Boys and
Girls Club of Western Broome 2009 Youth of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Alexis H. Oltmer became involved with the Boys and Girls Club
of Western Broome when she enrolled in the soccer program as a young
girl and learned to play the sport for the first time; and
WHEREAS, For the past two years, Alexis H. Oltmer has been an active
member of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome, where she serves as
a volunteer coach and gives back to the program that she participated in
as a young girl; and
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the best potential which is inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth, Alexis H. Oltmer has established a
purposefulness of life and brought enduring honor to her family and
community through her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, Alexis
H. Oltmer now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers, friends
and family; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation, are brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and
recognized by all the citizens of the great State of New York; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alexis H. Oltmer upon the occasion of her designation as the Boys
and Girls Club of Western Broome 2009 Youth of the Year and extend to
her its best wishes for a future of purposeful success and well-being,
fully confident of her response to a promising future and appreciative
of the model she represents for all aspiring young people of the Empire
State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Alexis H. Oltmer.
