LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Mary Caruso Koval-Minerick upon the
occasion of being named the Outstanding Italian American by the Rockland
County Columbus Association

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Mary Caruso Koval-Minerick upon the occasion of being named the
Outstanding Italian American by the Rockland County Columbus Associ-
ation; and
WHEREAS, Mary Caruso Koval-Minerick will be honored by the Rockland
County Columbus Association at its annual Gala Columbus Day Celebration
on September 12, 2009, at the Italian American Social Club in West
Haverstraw, New York; and
WHEREAS, A life long resident of Rockland County, Mary Caruso Koval-
Minerick believes in giving back to the region she loves so much; she is
a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian American Social
Club and has held numerous officer's positions in the West Haverstraw
and Rockland Community College Senior Citizens Clubs; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Town of Haverstraw and the Village of West
Haverstraw Senior Advisory Boards, Mary Caruso Koval-Minerick has been
called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors, including the Helen Hayes Volunteer Corporation,
the Hudson Valley Blood Bank, the Rockland County Sheriff's Tri-Ad
Committee and the Town of Haverstraw Multi-Cultural Committee; and
WHEREAS, With Mary Caruso Koval-Minerick throughout have been her two
sons, Frank and Joseph, and four grandchildren, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Mary Caruso Koval-Minerick upon the occasion of being named the
Outstanding Italian American by the Rockland County Columbus Associ-
ation, and to wish her continued success in all of her future endeavors;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mary Caruso Koval-Minerick.
