LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending outgoing President Rich Santer upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Kiwanis
Club of East Meadow on October 17, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals who have given of themselves in support of the
good works and worthy accomplishments of organizations dedicated to
fellowship and service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
outgoing President Rich Santer upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Kiwanis Club of East Meadow, to be celebrated
at its 58th Anniversary Dinner and Installation of the Officers and
Board of Directors on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Verdi's of West-
bury, Westbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club is one of the largest international service
clubs in the world, bringing together individuals who are dedicated to
providing service to meet the changing needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, Within the basic tenets of Kiwanis principles, an essential
and positive standard of all Kiwanis Clubs, is to form enduring friend-
ships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities;
and
WHEREAS, Despite his professional responsibilities, Rich Santer has
been called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless civic
and charitable endeavors and has given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Possessing the service spirit to benefit the community, Rich
Santer has left his own indelible mark on the Club he has led so effi-
ciently and competently; throughout the entire period of his presidency,
he stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with whom
he worked, Rich Santer will be remembered for his honesty, integrity,
keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of human problems
in his official acts; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend outgoing President Rich Santer upon the occasion of his desig-
nation for special recognition by the Kiwanis Club of East Meadow; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rich Santer, outgoing President, Kiwanis Club of East Meadow.
