LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kenya Gipson upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2009 Volunteer of the Year Award by the
Orange County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kenya Gipson, Public Service Director of Clear Channel Radio, upon the
occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2009 Volunteer of the
Year Award by the Orange County Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated at
its Annual Meeting and Awards Reception on Wednesday, October 21, 2009,
at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce recognizes
outstanding individuals and businesses that have made extraordinary
contributions to both the Chamber and the community over the past year;
Kenya Gipson is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and volunteer
efforts, Kenya Gipson's ongoing endeavors and notable achievements have
significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in her commu-
nity; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kenya Gipson upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2009 Volunteer of the Year Award by the Orange County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kenya Gipson.
