LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Barbara Bedell upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by The Great-
er Hudson Valley Family Health Center, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Barbara Bedell upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Lifetime Achievement Award by The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health
Center, Inc., to be celebrated on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Bedell has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for this special honor; and
WHEREAS, The Community Columnist for the TIMES HERALD RECORD, Barbara
Bedell has dedicated a large part of her professional life toward help-
ing the Mid-Hudson community and its people to understand the important
role that not-for-profit organizations such as The Greater Hudson Valley
Family Health Center, Inc. play in making Orange County and the region
as a whole a great place to both work and play; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Bedell has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Barbara Bedell upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Lifetime Achievement Award by The Greater Hudson Valley Family
Health Center, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barbara Bedell.
