LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Rian White upon the occasion of
his selection as Warwick High School Student-Athlete of the Week by the
Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success, both athletically as well as academ-
ically, have inspired and brought pride to their school and community;
and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of
fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Rian White upon the occasion of his selection as Warwick High
School Student-Athlete of the Week by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance
Agency; and
WHEREAS, Rian White, the standout senior football captain and quarter-
back, has been a big part of the Wildcats 5-0 start this fall; and
WHEREAS, He broke the Section 9 passing record with six touchdown
passes in the homecoming 54-0 victory over Washingtonville; Rian
completed 12 of 17 passes for 250 yards and rushed for a touchdown in
the win; and
WHEREAS, Rian White is an excellent student, who maintains a 96.3
grade point average, which has drawn interest from many schools in the
Ivy League; the three-sport standout excels for the basketball and base-
ball teams and has been recognized as a scholar-athlete for football,
basketball and baseball; and
WHEREAS, Rian White is involved in the Future Business Leaders of
America and the Film Club, as well as being an accomplished piano play-
er; and
WHEREAS, Rian White is the son of Dave and Michele White, and the
brother of Rachel White, all of whom are very proud of him and rejoice
in his many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rian White's overall record is outstanding; he was loyally
and enthusiastically supported by family, fans, friends and the communi-
ty at large; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Rian White has clearly made a contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of his school; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Rian White upon the occasion of his selection as Warwick
High School Student-Athlete of the Week; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rian White, Warwick, New York.
