LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sister Rosemary J. Sgroi, RSM upon the
occasion of her 50th Anniversary as a Sister of Mercy on November 20,
2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recogni-
tion and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
through their unremitting commitment and service to humanity; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sister Rosemary J. Sgroi, RSM upon the occasion of her 50th Anniversary
as a Sister of Mercy on November 20, 2009; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Siena College will also celebrate the endowment
of the Sister Rosemary J. Sgroi, RSM scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Sister Rosemary Sgroi was a beloved member of the Siena
Campus Ministry team during her 15 years at Siena College; she returned
to Siena this past year and continues to serve the College in her
current role as Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations;
and
WHEREAS, Sister Rosemary Sgroi has touched the lives of so many people
she has served in her ministries; to the Siena community, she is known
as a trusted confidant and advisor to students, staff and faculty; she
is a pillar in the community; and
WHEREAS, The Sister Rosemary J. Sgroi scholarship is in honor of
Sister Rosemary's parents, Anna and Salvadore Sgroi, who gave her all
the love and support she needed; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to commend the efforts of
Sister Rosemary J. Sgroi who has devoted her life to the benevolent care
of others and who has administered to all with an overwhelming spirit of
charity and love; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sister Rosemary J. Sgroi, RSM upon the occasion of her 50th Anni-
versary as a Sister of Mercy; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sister Rosemary J. Sgroi, RSM.
