LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Katie Brosnan upon the occasion of
receiving the 2009 Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Youth Achievement
Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Katie Brosnan upon the occasion of receiving the 2009 Pine Island Cham-
ber of Commerce Youth Achievement Award; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Warwick Valley High School, Katie Brosnan is a
member of the National Honor Society and is active in the Warwick Valley
Future Farmers of America, where she serves as Orange County Dairy Prin-
cess; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the Orange County Dairy Court, Katie Brosnan
was selected for an exclusive group promoting the dairy industry around
the country and has dedicated many hours to volunteering at the Pine
Island Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, A young woman of singular distinction and superlative abili-
ty, Katie Brosnan has established a high standard of academic excellence
and purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, Katie
Brosnan now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers, coaches and
parents; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when young
people of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Katie Brosnan upon the occasion of receiving the 2009 Pine Island
Chamber of Commerce Youth Achievement Award, and to extend to her its
best wishes for a future of purposeful success and well-being, fully
confident of her response to a promising future and appreciative of the
model she represents for all aspiring young people of the Empire State;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Katie Brosnan.
