LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 28th Anniversary of Bikur
Cholim Partners in Health/Yedei Chesed

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 28th Anniversary of Bikur Cholim Partners in Health/Yedei
Chesed on Sunday, November 15, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1981, Bikur Cholim has evolved into a multi-facet-
ed organization, uniquely positioned to meet the ever-evolving needs of
the Rockland community and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Rabbi Simon Lauber and his
staff, Bikur Cholim provides a wellspring of innovative health-related
services; based in Rockland County, New York, it reaches hospitals and
individuals throughout the greater New York City area, nationally and
internationally, fielding phone calls from individuals seeking advice
and medical referrals; and
WHEREAS, Through its Center for Applied Psychology, Bikur Cholim
assists those in need of mental health support with the utmost sensitiv-
ity and professionalism; its sister agency, Yedei Chesed, brilliantly
addresses the myriad challenges of the developmentally disabled and
their families; and
WHEREAS, Recently, Bikur Cholim has launched a campaign dedicated to
the prevention of health-related problems, through testing, public
awareness programming and a variety of educational initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Bikur Cholim Partners in Health/Yedei Chesed's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 28th Anniversary of Bikur Cholim Partners in
Health/Yedei Chesed; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bikur Cholim Partners in Health/Yedei Chesed.
