LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating The Mid-York Press, Inc. upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Small Business Manufac-
turer of the Year Award by Commerce Chenango

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late The Mid-York Press, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Small Business Manufacturer of the Year Award by
Commerce Chenango, to be celebrated on Tuesday, December 1, 2009; and
WHEREAS, A carton manufacturer, The Mid-York Press, Inc. of Sherburne,
New York's roots go back four generations when the company acquired its
first presses in 1946; since then, it has evolved into a highly special-
ized supplier to the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries on a
national level in addition to supplying commercial printing services to
local industries; and
WHEREAS, With over 250 accounts, some of Mid-York's local customers
include: Norwich Pharmaceuticals, CWS, Golden Artist Colors and Welch-
Allyn; capital improvements and expansion products continue to happen at
the Sherburne facility, and the company is currently working on the
purchase of new manufacturing equipment as well as expanding their
facilities; and
WHEREAS, A prominent contributor to many community organizations, The
Mid-York Press, Inc. employs over 80 individuals, including temporary
workers; it is a true asset to society; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges The Mid-York Press, Inc. and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate The Mid-York Press, Inc. upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as recipient of the Small Business Manufacturer of the Year Award
by Commerce Chenango; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Mid-York Press, Inc.
