LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Carle Place Hook, Ladder & Hose
Company No. 1 upon the occasion of hosting its 100th Annual Inspection
and Installation Dinner

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body has the deepest pride and admiration for
the fire departments of New York State which perform the crucial work of
fire protection and fire prevention; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Carle Place Hook, Ladder & Hose Company No. 1 upon the occasion of
hosting its 100th Annual Inspection and Installation Dinner; and
WHEREAS, This special event is to honor the past and present fire-
fighting members of Carle Place for 100 years of fire protection to its
citizens as well as the surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, In July of 1910, a group of 11 men met for the purpose of
organizing a fire company; the membership grew very rapidly and these
early members played a big part in the development of the company; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Carle Place Hook, Ladder & Hose Company
No. 1 has grown and transformed into one of the primary fire departments
in Nassau County; and
WHEREAS, In keeping with its tradition to protect all residents and
property of the Carle Place Fire District, the Department bravely
responds to 800 alarms a year; and
WHEREAS, Fire departments are an integral part of community protection
services in every locality of our State; during the past 100 years, the
courageous and devoted firefighters of Carle Place Hook, Ladder & Hose
Company No. 1 have valiantly responded to all types of fire emergencies
and have won the praise and respect of the community which they serve;
and
WHEREAS, The brave firefighters of Carle Place Hook, Ladder & Hose
Company No. 1 are prepared to risk their lives every day to help save
the lives of others and to protect homes and property from the
destruction caused by fire; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that we should give
special recognition to those who work so assiduously for the betterment
of their communities, and acknowledge publicly the heroic good works
performed by the fire departments of this great Empire State, their
officers and auxiliaries; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
proudly commend the Carle Place Hook, Ladder & Hose Company No. 1 upon
the occasion of hosting its 100th Annual Inspection and Installation
Dinner; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Carle Place Hook, Ladder & Hose Company No. 1.
