LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Terry and Frank Freyvogel upon the
occasion of their designation by the BELLMORE HERALD as the recipients
of the People of the Year '09 Award

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in the Empire State are
greatly enriched by the faithful and generous service of those who
distinguish themselves in their profession and in service to their
community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals of such magnanimous conduct and bearing who demon-
strate a deep and continuing concern for others, and in so doing,
inspire others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commend Terry and Frank Freyvogel upon the occasion of their designation
by the BELLMORE HERALD as the recipients of the People of the Year '09
Award; and
WHEREAS, Residents of North Bellmore, Terry and Frank Freyvogel began
their volunteer efforts more than two decades ago with the Boy Scouts
when their son, Justin was small; instrumental in running Boy Scout
Troop 577, they still remain active even after Justin became an Eagle
Scout, scouting's highest honor; and
WHEREAS, A former Troop Committee chairwoman, Terry Freyvogel remains
a committee member, overseeing Eagle Scout submissions; she helps Eagle
candidates assemble the paperwork that they need for submittal; Frank
Freyvogel is an assistant scoutmaster, having served as troop scoutmas-
ter from 2003 to 2005; and
WHEREAS, The Freyvogels often work together, and with other committee
members and scout leaders, helping the youngsters fulfill merit badge
requirements and encouraging them to undertake community service, which
culminates in service projects that are required for Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, The Freyvogels have been North Bellmore residents since 1982;
Frank operates a first-rate residential contracting company, F.C. Frey-
vogel & Co. Inc., out of their home, and Terry handles the accounting
and office work; and
WHEREAS, Truly wonderful supporters of the Bellmore community, Terry
and Frank Freyvogel's volunteering also extends to their local church,
Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Bellmore Avenue, where Terry helps
with the annual holiday boutique, among other projects; she is a member
of the Church Council and has been involved with the Altar Guild, while
Frank serves as the church's properties manager; and
WHEREAS, The Freyvogels have helped with fundraising and other activ-
ities for the Boys and Girls Club for nine years, and with Long Island
Youth Guidance Inc. for three years; they are a true asset to society;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend them for the
edification and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Terry and Frank Freyvogel upon the occasion of their designation
by the BELLMORE HERALD as the recipients of the People of the Year '09
Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Terry and Frank Freyvogel.
