LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Wantagh Fire Department and Chief
Jeff Lindgren upon the occasion of receiving the Organization of the
Year Award from the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body has the deepest pride and admiration for
the fire departments of New York State which perform the crucial work of
fire protection and fire prevention; and
WHEREAS, The courageous and devoted firefighters of the Wantagh Fire
Department valiantly respond to all types of fire emergencies and engage
in vital activities which help to prevent the loss of life and property
from fires; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Wantagh Fire Department and Chief Jeff Lindgren upon the occasion of
receiving the Organization of the Year Award from the Wantagh Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, The Wantagh Fire Department and Chief Jeff Lindgren will be
honored at the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce's 2010 Annual Awards Dinner,
to be held on January 28, 2010, at Westbury Manor in Westbury, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The Wantagh Fire Department not only provides the critical
service of fire protection, but also engages in other activities of
great benefit and importance to the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that we should give
special recognition to those who work so assiduously for the betterment
of their communities, and acknowledge publicly the heroic good works
performed by the fire departments of this great Empire State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Wantagh Fire Department and Chief Jeff Lindgren upon the occa-
sion of receiving the Organization of the Year Award from the Wantagh
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jeff Lindgren, Chief of the Wantagh Fire Department.
