LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Daniel Bornstein, of Merrick, upon
the occasion of being named a Semifinalist in the 2010 Intel Science
Talent Search

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exem-
plify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Daniel Bornstein upon the occasion of being named a Semifinalist in
the 2010 Intel Science Talent Search; and
WHEREAS, In achieving this high academic honor, Daniel Bornstein may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to Bellmore, New York's John F. Kennedy High
School; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Bornstein and his project, entitled "An Analysis of
Photosynthesis in Poplar Inoculated with Endophytic Bacteria," were
recognized for his discovery in the agricultural field that the endophy-
tic bacteria injected into poplar trees to make them grow in less arable
soil may, in fact, cause more stress on the tree and cloud its work as a
true bio-fuel alternative; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Bornstein stands poised on the threshold of a broad
and challenging world, a testament to the love and nurturing care of his
family, teachers and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Daniel Bornstein upon the occasion of being named a Semifi-
nalist in the 2010 Intel Science Talent Search, and to wish him contin-
ued success in all of his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Daniel Bornstein.
