LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mici Polizzi Simonofsky upon the occa-
sion of her designation for special recognition for her dedicated
service to the Town of Marlborough

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mici
Polizzi Simonofsky upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition for her dedicated service to the Town of Marlborough to be
acknowledged at a celebration "Toast and Jam" on Sunday, January 31,
2010, at The Falcon, Marlboro, New York; and
WHEREAS, Mici Polizzi Simonofsky has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Mici Polizzi Simonofsky was elected to the office of Town
Council, serving from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Mici Polizzi Simonofsky was a tireless advocate
for her constituents as a representative to the Recreation Committee,
Justice Court, Greenway Committee, Conservation Advisory Council, Plan-
ning Board, Economic Development and Tourism Committee; and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Mici Polizzi Simonofsky was responsible for
authoring and receiving grants for Town improvements; and
WHEREAS, She achieved improved efficiency in Town departments includ-
ing a policy that she authored for continued improvement, and is well
recognized for her unswerving and happy service to her community in
answering the call to any service, including her mascot appearances at
the Town's Bounty Festival as the "Bee Mascot"; and
WHEREAS, Mici Polizzi Simonofsky has been called upon to contribute
her time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mici Polizzi Simonofsky upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition for her dedicated service to the Town of Marlbor-
ough; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mici Polizzi Simonofsky.
