LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Southwestern High School Trojans
Football Team upon the occasion of winning their second consecutive
Class C State Championship

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor outstanding high school athletes who have exhibited the teamwork,
commitment and drive to succeed in statewide interscholastic competi-
tions in this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, The Southwestern High School Trojans Football Team has won
its second consecutive New York State Public High School Athletic Asso-
ciation Class C Football Championship; and
WHEREAS, This talented group of young athletes embodies the true spir-
it of teamwork in achieving a goal, all while demonstrating the ability
to balance the commitments of academics, family and athletics; and
WHEREAS, The Southwestern High School Trojans Football Team remained
steadfast in its goal to remain competitive in the State playoffs, and
has since become a model for other teams within and without its communi-
ty; and
WHEREAS, This special team and its coaching staff were ranked first in
their division, and practiced the discipline and dedication to capture
the State title; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those high school athletic teams that have achieved notable success
in interscholastic competition in this great Empire State; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Southwestern High School Trojans Football Team upon the
occasion of winning their second consecutive New York State Public High
School Athletic Association Class C Football Championship and commend
them for their dedication and outstanding season and overall team
record; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Southwestern High School Trojans Football Team.
