LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Roberta Naparty upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Bay Ridge Brooklyn Chapter of
New York State Women, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Roberta Naparty has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Roberta Napar-
ty upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Bay Ridge Brooklyn Chapter of New York State Women, Inc. on Saturday,
March 20, 2010, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, A Registered Nurse since 1968, Roberta Naparty's husband,
Robert, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1986; she is an avid
supporter of both the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Guy M. Stewart
Cancer Fund, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Composed of volunteers, the Guy M. Stewart Cancer Fund, Inc.
was established to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House in Manhat-
tan and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Pediatric Unit; and
WHEREAS, With Roberta Naparty throughout have been her husband,
Robert, and their children, Dana and Matthew, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Roberta Naparty has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Roberta Naparty upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Bay Ridge Brooklyn Chapter of New York State Women,
Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Roberta Naparty.
