LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Sue and Abe Mizrahi upon the occasion
of their designation for special recognition by the Westchester Region
of Hadassah

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who have devoted themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Sue and Abe Mizrahi upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by the Westchester Region of Hadassah at its Rollin' at the
Ritz, 2009 Monte Carlo Gala to be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at
the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, White Plains, New York; and
WHEREAS, Sue and Abe Mizrahi are being recognized for their unwavering
service to Israel and the Jewish community; and
WHEREAS, Sue and Abe Mizrahi have been called upon to contribute their
time and talents to countless endeavors and have always given of them-
selves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Sue Mizrahi is a Life member of Hadassah, serving as West-
chester Region President, National Secretary, and founder of YJ Impact,
Hadassah/Young Judaea's effort to send post college adults to Israel;
and
WHEREAS, Abe Mizrahi, a Hadassah Associate, was born in Israel and
served valiantly in both the Haganah and the Palmach, and later as an
officer of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces); during his long medical
career, he served on the faculties of Columbia, Mt. Sinai, and Cornell
medical schools, and in the pharmaceutical industry from which he
retired as Senior VP-Research for Revlon Corp.; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their service, a period of
constructive involvement, Sue and Abe Mizrahi have stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Sue and Abe Mizrahi have displayed
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sue and Abe Mizrahi upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the Westchester Region of Hadassah; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sue and Abe Mizrahi.
