LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Denise Warren upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a Community Leadership Award

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Denise Warren upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a
Community Leadership Award; and
WHEREAS, The Community Leadership Award is presented to people who
have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their community and have had
a positive effect on their community through their work and dedication;
and
WHEREAS, Denise Warren is owner of Body by Denise, an organization she
started over twenty years ago; she began with a small group of men and
women in one of the Rochdale Village community rooms, located in Queens,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Because of its popularity and ever expanding membership, Body
by Denise is now being held in the Rochdale Village Community Center
Ballroom; it is an intense, yet fun-filled, group fitness class that
services well over two hundred men and women from the five boroughs of
New York, along with Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Denise Warren has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Denise Warren's distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Denise Warren upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a Community Leadership Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Denise Warren.
