LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 12th Anniversary of To Life! at
its 12th Annual Gala, "Honoring the Women in Our Lives," on May 4, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 12th Anniversary of To Life!; this auspicious occasion will be
celebrated at the organization's 12th Annual Gala, "Honoring the Women
in Our Lives," to be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Franklin Plaza
in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1998, To Life! is a non-profit organization
providing free-of-charge breast cancer education and support services in
a 10-county region, including and surrounding Albany County; its
outreach extends to women and families facing breast cancer, and to any
person who is concerned about this disease; and
WHEREAS, The mission of To Life! is to educate the community about
breast cancer detection, treatments and related health matters, and
provide support services to breast cancer patients, caregivers, family
and friends; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of its President and Founder, Mara
Ginsberg, Esq., and its Executive Director, Laurie Abbott, To Life!
takes pride in the support of its donors, friends, and volunteers who
help it assist those living with and affected by breast cancer; and
WHEREAS, To Life! provides services to approximately 800 individuals
annually, including free educational forums, support groups, one-on-one
mentoring, wellness activities, and a boutique at its Delmar headquar-
ters, where breast cancer survivors can find a variety of wigs, scarves,
bras, and prostheses; and
WHEREAS, In addition, over 2,500 people are reached annually through
To Life! sponsored breast health workshops and health fairs held several
times per year at a variety of locations; and
WHEREAS, To Life! is unique in its dedication to local women and fami-
lies; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an organ-
ization of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, it should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 12th Anniversary of To Life! at its 12th Annual Gala,
"Honoring the Women in Our Lives"; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to To Life!, 410 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar, New York 12054.
