LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Vincenzo R. Marra for receiving the
General Giuseppe Garibaldi Award from the NYPD Columbia Association

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Vincenzo R. Marra for receiving the General Giuseppe Garibaldi Award
from the NYPD Columbia Association on Friday, May 7, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Vincenzo Marra of National Italian American Foundation (NIAF)
is regional vice president for the Greater New York Area, and president
of Italian Beauty Innovations in New York City; in addition, he is
founder and president of Italian Language Inter-Cultural Alliance which
is the primary focus of his life; and
WHEREAS, Vincenzo Marra was born in Rome, earned a university degree
in engineering and attained a certificate in Culinary Arts; he came to
the United States in 1971 as a representative of Italian TELECOM USA;
and
WHEREAS, It was here Vincenzo Marra began his career in international
trade with a concentration in food products; in 1997, he founded Italian
Beauty Innovations, a state-of-the-art skin care company featuring
products made in Italy that are sold to spas in Europe, Canada, and the
United States; and
WHEREAS, Vincenzo Marra and his family, wife Susy and daughter Ilaria,
created Agnus Noster, a non-profit foundation that has helped establish
a camp dedicated to children suffering from serious skin diseases; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Vincenzo R. Marra and to wish him
continued success in all of his future endeavors; he is a true asset to
society; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Vincenzo R. Marra for receiving the General Giuseppe Garibaldi
Award from the NYPD Columbia Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Vincenzo R. Marra.
