LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Daniel W. Goswick, Jr. upon the occa-
sion of his designation as a recipient of a Youth Volunteer Service
Award by the County of Rockland Youth Bureau

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those youth of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character
and achievements best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this-
great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is also the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize
the dedication and commitment of our young people who, by achieving
outstanding success in their chosen endeavors, have inspired and brought
pride to our majestic Empire State, and who distinguish themselves
through their excellence; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Daniel W. Goswick, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as a recipi-
ent of a Youth Volunteer Service Award by the County of Rockland Youth
Bureau; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated on Thursday, May 6,
2010, at Terrace on the Hudson in Haverstraw, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Rockland County Youth Bureau is a community resource that
is dedicated to an active and assertive process of creating the social
conditions that promote the well-being of children, youth and families;
and
WHEREAS, Annually, the volunteer Board of Directors of the Rockland
County Youth Bureau present the Joseph A. Myers Service to Youth Award
to deserving youth volunteers at its Youth Forum and Awards ceremony;
and
WHEREAS, The epitome of a volunteer, Daniel W. Goswick, Jr. is a
senior at Tappan Zee High School, and also attends the Rockland BOCES
Career and Technical Education Center; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Piermont Fire Department, Daniel W. Goswick,
Jr. is a member of both the Department's underwater rescue and high
angle rescue teams; and
WHEREAS, Daniel W. Goswick, Jr. is training to become an EMT with the
South Orangetown Ambulance Corps; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Daniel W. Goswick, Jr. is a talented artist,
carpenter and part of the "green technology" movement in the
construction trades; and
WHEREAS, It is appropriate to celebrate the accomplishments of remark-
able youth in this great Empire State; Daniel W. Goswick, Jr. is indeed
such a distinguished New York State youth; and
WHEREAS, The designation and outstanding performance of Daniel W.
Goswick, Jr. as a recipient of a Youth Volunteer Service Award has
clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of Rockland County; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Daniel W. Goswick, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as a
recipient of a Youth Volunteer Service Award by the County of Rockland
Youth Bureau, and to extend to him the best wishes of this Legislative
Body for a future of purposeful success and well-being, fully confident
of his response to a promising future and appreciative of the model he
represents for all aspiring young people of the Empire State; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Daniel W. Goswick, Jr.
