LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Alcoa Fastening Systems upon the occa-
sion of its designation as Humanitarian of the Year by Ulster-Greene ARC
on May 7, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
businesses and individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Alcoa Fastening Systems upon the occasion of its designation as Humani-
tarian of the Year by Ulster-Greene ARC at its 29th Annual Humanitarian
of the Year dinner to be held on Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Wiltwyck
Golf Club, Kingston, New York; and
WHEREAS, Alcoa Fastening Systems has been a constant and humble
supporter of Ulster-Greene ARC for many years; as a dedicated community
partner, it has enabled the ARC and its programs to flourish, thereby
enriching the lives of countless others; and
WHEREAS, Through community grants received from Alcoa Fastening
Systems, Ulster-Greene ARC has been able to continue to improve the
programs at Brookside School; from playground repairs to obtaining books
for the school, Alcoa has been a continuous partner; and
WHEREAS, Alcoa Fastening Systems not only assists Ulster-Greene ARC to
improve its programs, it also graciously receives high school students
enrolled in its school-to-work program; since 2007, they have had
students assist with numerous office functions; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
recognize Alcoa Fastening Systems, for its unwavering commitment to
Ulster-Greene ARC, as it provides an uncompromising standard of excel-
lence in the delivery of superlative community service; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when businesses
of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the
great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Alcoa Fastening Systems upon the occasion of its designation as
Humanitarian of the Year by Ulster-Greene ARC on May 7, 2010; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Alcoa Fastening Systems.
