LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lisa George Watson upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by Peninsula Preparatory Academy
at its 2010 Unsung Heroes Awards Banquet

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, It is also the practice of this Legislative Body to take note
of and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this
great State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lisa
George Watson upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion by Peninsula Preparatory Academy; this auspicious occasion will be
celebrated on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at the Academy's Unsung Heroes
Awards Banquet; and
WHEREAS, Known at Peninsula Preparatory Academy as the "Zumba Queen,"
Lisa George Watson volunteered on a daily basis to teach students phys-
ical education in a fun and exciting way through the venue of the latest
aerobic craze entitled, "Zumba"; and
WHEREAS, Lisa George Watson supported the physical education teacher
at Peninsula Preparatory Academy and facilitated a partnership between
the Academy and the local LIFE Fitness gym whereby the school and its
scholars were able to use the facility for a nominal fee; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Lisa George Watson has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of her colleagues, family and friends; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lisa George Watson upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by Peninsula Preparatory Academy at its 2010 Unsung
Heroes Awards Banquet, and for her significant contributions to educa-
tion in New York State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lisa George Watson.
