LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Erin Rose Collins upon the occa-
sion of receiving the Girl Scout Silver Award

WHEREAS, Erin Rose Collins is to be honored with the Girl Scout Silver
Award, Scouting's highest award and Girl Scouting's second highest
achievement; and
WHEREAS, Erin Rose Collins is a member of Troop 487, Goshen, New York,
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Council; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our Nation's young people the
goals of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of work-
ing with others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling pride, and
encouraging community service and success; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of the countless
hundreds of thousands who have participated in Scouting programs which
have made Scouting an American and international institution; and
WHEREAS, Erin Rose Collins has provided leadership in performing
countless hours of community service to meet the challenge of the rigor-
ous requirements necessary to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award; and
WHEREAS, For her final culminating project, Erin Rose Collins encour-
aged an understanding of Scouting around the world, by taking younger
Girl Scouts on a tour of four Girl Scout World Centers, located in
England, Mexico, Switzerland, and India; she prepared a display board
with photos and information about the cultures of the countries in which
the Centers are located, historical details about the Centers them-
selves, and what Scouting is like in those countries; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year period; it is
tangible evidence of the high character and commitment of Erin Rose
Collins, and is a harbinger of her future service to her community, New
York State and our Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
warmly congratulate Erin Rose Collins, recognizing her achievement in
earning the Girl Scout Silver Award and wishing her success, health and
happiness; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Erin Rose Collins.
