LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Joanne Hilfiger upon the occasion of
her retirement from the Baldwinsville Central School District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those illustrious individuals of distinguished purpose whose
lives have been committed to educating our youth; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor
Joanne Hilfiger upon the occasion of her retirement from the Baldwins-
ville Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Joanne Hilfiger grew up in the Boston area and worked in the
insurance business prior to joining the Baldwinsville Central School
District as a teaching assistant; and
WHEREAS, For 22 years, Joanne served in this capacity at Elden Elemen-
tary School, where she primarily taught students how to read; Joanne was
instrumental in teaching countless students how to read throughout her
22 years in the school district; and
WHEREAS, In addition to being a devoted educator, Joanne is a wife,
mother of three children and a very proud grandmother; she enjoys
needlepoint and, in her retirement, she hopes to spend more time with
her children and grandchildren in Florida; and
WHEREAS, For 22 years, Joanne Hilfiger has been devoted to educating
children by teaching them how to read and sharing with them her passion
for literature; as an educator, she has made such a wonderful difference
in the lives of our future generations, and she deserves to be commended
for her investment in our students; her hard work, commitment and dedi-
cation have a positive impact that goes far beyond the classroom; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Joanne Hilfiger for her 22 years of service to the Baldwinsville
Central School District, and to wish her well in her retirement; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joanne Hilfiger.
