LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Joey and Lisa Bernstein upon the occa-
sion of their designation for special recognition by the Westchester Day
School on February 8, 2009

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Joey and Lisa Bernstein have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Joey and
Lisa Bernstein upon the occasion of their designation for special recog-
nition by the Westchester Day School at its 61st Anniversary Dinner to
be held on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the Greentree Country Club, New
Rochelle, New York; and
WHEREAS, Joey and Lisa Bernstein have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents to countless endeavors on behalf of Westchester
Day School and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated parents, Lisa Bernstein has been involved with the
school's Shabbaton, Goods and Services Auction, Learning to Look
program, and Haderech; Joey Bernstein has diligently served on the
school's Board for five years; he is a well-known and highly respected
ENT Surgeon at NYU Langone Medical Center; and
WHEREAS, Together, Joey and Lisa Bernstein are active in the Young
Israel of New Rochelle and Westchester community, and are the proud
parents of Adam, Mikaella and Sara; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Joey and Lisa Bernstein have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Joey and Lisa Bernstein have displayed
throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Joey and Lisa Bernstein upon the occasion of their designation
for special recognition by the Westchester Day School; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joey and Lisa Bernstein.
