LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Margaretville Telephone Company upon
the occasion of receiving the Business Investment Award from the Central
Catskills Chamber of Commerce on May 19, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious pioneer companies of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Margaretville Telephone Company upon the occasion of receiving the Busi-
ness Investment Award from the Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce at
its 2010 Annual Membership Awards Dinner to be held at the Hanah Moun-
tain Resort and Country Club on Wednesday, May 19, 2010; and
WHEREAS, For the past 94 years, Margaretville Telephone Company has
met the needs of the expanding community changing with the times and
meeting the expectations of a society that has become so dependent on
keeping on the cutting edge of technology; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Glen Faulkner and Don Bramley,
Margaretville Telephone Company is currently preparing to embark on a
major extension of broad band service to residents and businesses
located 'at the end of the line' along the rural roadways; once this is
accomplished living out of town will no longer be a barrier for home
based business development; and
WHEREAS, The success of Margaretville Telephone Company is due to the
efforts of its leaders and staff, who are and have always been charac-
terized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an
uncompromising standard of excellence to serve the communication needs
of the population; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
recognize Margaretville Telephone Company, for its unwavering commitment
to the citizens of the Central Catskills, as it provides an uncompromis-
ing standard of excellence in the delivery of superlative community
service; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Margaretville Telephone Company upon the occasion of receiving
the Business Investment Award from the Central Catskills Chamber of
Commerce on May 19, 2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Margaretville Telephone Company.
