LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Katherine Brosnan upon the occa-
sion of her designation as the 2010 New York State Dairy Princess

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those individuals whose civic endeavors have enhanced the
quality of their community in the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to
congratulate Katherine Brosnan upon the occasion of her designation as
the 2010 New York State Dairy Princess; and
WHEREAS, Katherine Brosnan, of Pine Island, New York, a student at
Warwick Valley High School, was elevated to statewide royalty for her
eager involvement in her family's dairy farm; and
WHEREAS, Named Orange County Dairy Princess in earlier competition, on
Tuesday, February 16, 2010, Katherine Brosnan was named the New York
State Dairy Princess; and
WHEREAS, Katherine Brosnan was chosen from more than 20 young women
from across the state who competed in the two-day dairy princess
pageant; these contestants were judged in a variety of categories, from
performance on a written communications test and product knowledge test
to responding to impromptu questions and informal interaction with
others; and
WHEREAS, As the 2010 New York State Dairy Princess, Katherine Brosnan
will represent New York's dairy farmers during the next year, at
promotions, interviews and other events, including the New York State
Fair; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication which Katherine
Brosnan has displayed in the New York Dairy Princess competition; she
has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such courage, noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Katherine Brosnan upon the occasion of her designation as
the 2010 New York State Dairy Princess; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Katherine Brosnan, Pine Island, New York.
