LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dider Gutierrez upon the occasion of
receiving the Outstanding Student of the Year Award from the Suffolk
Association for Continuing Community Education on June 7, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary pursuit of education as adults; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dider Gutierrez upon the occasion of receiving the Outstanding Student
of the Year Award from the Suffolk Association for Continuing Community
Education (SACCE) at its Awards Dinner to be held on Monday, June 7,
2010, at the Watermill Restaurant in Smithtown, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dider Gutierrez came to the United States from Colombia in
October 2009; while in his native country, he studied Systems Engineer-
ing at St. Boneventure University; he worked as a project manager in
public service for other business enterprises and for energy companies
developing specific software for management and accounting; and
WHEREAS, Dider Gutierrez started studying English in high school and
continued to do so at the University; now in America, he plans to
continue to study English, improve his listening skills and re-enter the
field of Systems Engineering for an American company; and
WHEREAS, Suffolk Association for Continuing Community Education proud-
ly honors Dider Gutierrez in recognition of his dedication, perseverance
and fortitude; he has continuously demonstrated integrity and honor
while using BOCES' programming and exemplifies the virtues of an
esteemed leader; and
WHEREAS, Dider Gutierrez may now stand with just pride in assessing
his achievements, experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the
joy of his accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new ventures;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dider Gutierrez upon the occasion of receiving the Outstanding
Student of the Year Award from the Suffolk Association for Continuing
Community Education on June 7, 2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dider Gutierrez.
