LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Anthony Assalone for receiving the 2010
Herbert Katzenberg Award from the Westchester ARC

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Assalone has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Anthony Assal-
one for receiving the 2010 Herbert Katzenberg Award from the Westchester
ARC on Tuesday, June 1, 2010; and
WHEREAS, This special award is given annually to a deserving board
member of Westchester ARC who demonstrates the principles and values of
former Board Member Herbert Katzenberg; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Assalone has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, During Anthony Assalone's tenure with the Board of Directors,
he has demonstrated strong leadership in advancing the name, image, and
support of Westchester ARC as it continues to advance opportunities for
people with developmental disabilities in its community; and
WHEREAS, Through Anthony Assalone's guidance and leadership, Westches-
ter ARC has developed a strong business plan for eDocNY; this business
plan is now producing results which will eventually lead to a stand
alone entity in support of Westchester ARC services; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Anthony Assalone's work and guidance on issues
related to corporate excellence has placed Westchester ARC in a position
of high respect and envy among its peers; further, his participation and
leadership on the nominating committee has attracted strong candidates
for the future leadership on the board; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Assalone's leadership demonstrates the strong princi-
ples and qualities that were found in the tenure of Herbert Katzenberg;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Anthony Assalone has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Anthony Assalone has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anthony Assalone for receiving the 2010 Herbert Katzenberg Award
from the Westchester ARC; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anthony Assalone.
