LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Hudson Valley Bank for receiving
the Foundation Award from the Westchester ARC

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Hudson Valley Bank for receiving the Foundation Award from the West-
chester ARC on Tuesday, June 1, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Hudson Valley Bank is the largest independently owned commer-
cial bank headquartered in Westchester County; it specializes in provid-
ing a full range of high quality financial services for individuals,
businesses, professional service firms and not-for-profit organizations;
and
WHEREAS, This year's Foundation Award will be accepted by Vice Presi-
dent Moira Kiernan; she and her associates at the Central Park Avenue,
White Plains branch have welcomed teenagers and young adults in West-
chester ARC's transitions program to visit their branch in order to
learn about banks and banking transactions; and
WHEREAS, The Hudson Valley Foundation has been generous with its
support for many years; and
WHEREAS, Moira Kiernan and Jennifer Marron have generously given their
time by serving on the Foundation's annual gala Committee, A Matter of
Taste, for three years; they are true assets to the cause; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Hudson Valley Bank for receiving the Foundation Award from
the Westchester ARC; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Vice President Moira Kiernan, Jennifer Marron, Gala committee
member, and the Hudson Valley Bank.
