LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Huff Ice Cream upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2010 Business of the Year Award by the
Sidney Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Huff
Ice Cream upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2010
Business of the Year Award by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce; this
auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's Annual Dinner,
to be held on Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Sidney Elks Lodge in Sidney,
New York; and
WHEREAS, For 30 years, Huff Ice Cream has been an integral part of the
Sidney, New York community; it has a well-earned reputation as a reli-
able employer as well as a valuable community member; and
WHEREAS, During the flood of 2006, Huff Ice Cream provided trucks to
store much needed ice for distribution to community members; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, many local organizations have been able to
depend on Huff Ice Cream and its carts for fundraising events; and
WHEREAS, Huff Ice Cream has been a loyal supporter of the Sidney Cham-
ber of Commerce and its events such as the Arts and Music Festival and
Jolly Holly Days; and
WHEREAS, In difficult economic times, Huff Ice Cream has maintained
the full operation of its business and is preparing an expansion that
will add more jobs to the Sidney community; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Huff Ice Cream of
Sidney, New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Huff Ice Cream upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2010 Business of the Year Award by the Sidney Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Huff Ice Cream, 3 Winkler Road, Sidney, New York 13838.
