LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating J. Patrick Loucey upon the occa-
sion of receiving the James H. Carnahan Safety Service Award from the
American Red Cross of Northeastern New York

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, J. Patrick Loucey will be honored with the James H. Carnahan
Safety Service Award from the American Red Cross of Northeastern New
York during its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Dinner to be
held at the Century House in Latham on June 15, 2010; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award is bestowed upon an individual who,
through teaching and support of safety programs, has promoted the ideals
of the American Red Cross; and
WHEREAS, Pat was nominated for this honor by Albert Cahill, Jean
Connelly, and Don Geurtze, members of the James H. Carnahan Safety
Service Award nominating committee; and
WHEREAS, He is retired from a successful career as a teacher; and
WHEREAS, Pat has been a Water Safety Instructor since 1973; and
WHEREAS, He has served as First Aid and CPR Instructor since 1988, and
as a Lifeguarding Instructor since 1995; and
WHEREAS, Pat became a Water Safety Instructor Trainer in 1991; this is
the highest level of training within the Health and Safety course
programs; and
WHEREAS, He contributed a great deal of time to the North Country
Chapter before moving to Peck Lake upon his retirement; and
WHEREAS, Pat has exhibited the true spirit of this award through his
tireless dedication to health and safety programs; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate J. Patrick Loucey upon the occasion of receiving the James
H. Carnahan Safety Service Award from the American Red Cross of North-
eastern New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to J. Patrick Loucey.
