LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Price Chopper upon the occasion of
receiving the Good Neighbor Award from the American Red Cross of North-
eastern New York

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed entities who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Price Chopper will be honored with the Good Neighbor Award
from the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York during its Annual
Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Dinner to be held at the Century House
in Latham on June 15, 2010; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award is bestowed upon an individual or
organization for having made a significant humanitarian contribution to
the local, national, or international community in support of the Ameri-
can Red Cross; and
WHEREAS, Price Chopper is working with the Red Cross as a Centennial
Partner to make Red Cross programs and services more widely available in
our local community; and
WHEREAS, The supermarket has gained the support of its customers and
has raised over $212,000 for Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti following
a devastating earthquake; and
WHEREAS, Price Chopper will further benefit the Red Cross as its
featured charity during the "Fabulous 4th and Fireworks Festival," which
is an excellent opportunity for the Red Cross to share information about
its programs and services; and
WHEREAS, Price Chopper has exhibited the true spirit of this award
through its generous contributions to the community and to Red Cross
programs and services; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Price Chopper upon the occasion of receiving the Good
Neighbor Award from the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Price Chopper.
