LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Meredith M. Prime for receiving the
Distinguished Service Award from the Adirondack Medical Center

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Meredith M. Prime has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Meredith M.
Prime for receiving the Distinguished Service Award from the Adirondack
Medical Center, to be celebrated at its13th Annual Crystal Gala on
Saturday, June 12, 2010; and
WHEREAS, The Adirondack Medical Center (AMC) Distinguished Service
Award recognizes those individuals who have significantly contributed to
the Medical Center's mission, either through professional services or
volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Meredith Prime has served with distinction on the AMC Founda-
tion Board of Trustees from 2001-2010; she recognizes the need to ensure
the vitality of Adirondack Medical Center, which she believes is crit-
ically important for Tri-Lakes region residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, Meredith Prime has served as the Foundation Board Chair,
Chair of the Major Gifts Committee, and as a member of the Finance
Committee; she has given time to and shared her expertise with many
North Country non-profits including the Lake Placid Center for the Arts,
Mountain Lake PBS, North Country Public Radio, the Nature Conservancy
and the Adirondack Community Trust; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Meredith Prime chairs the Crary Foundation and the
Adirondack Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and Adirondack Land Trust;
in recognition of her many contributions to the region and its quality
of life, she was awarded the Harold Hochschild Award in 2008 by the
Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake; and
WHEREAS, Meredith Prime has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Meredith Prime has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Meredith Prime has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Meredith M. Prime for receiving the Distinguished Service Award
from the Adirondack Medical Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Meredith M. Prime.
