LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sue Delp for receiving the Exceptional
Volunteer Service Award from the American Red Cross of Northeastern New
York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality of life in the communities across this great State of New York
is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those indi-
viduals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sue
Delp for receiving the Exceptional Volunteer Service Award from the
American Red Cross of Northeastern New York on Tuesday, June 15, 2010,
in Latham, New York; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and responsibil-
ities, Sue Delp's ongoing efforts and notable achievements have signif-
icantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in her community;
and
WHEREAS, A resident of Kinderhook, Sue Delp has been the face of the
Red Cross in the Kinderhook area for over 25 years, and has served as
the unofficial chairperson of Blood Services in the community; and
WHEREAS, Completely dedicated, Sue Delp has tripled the amount of
blood drives in the area, which has built donor support and developed a
cadre of volunteers to contact and register donors; through her dedi-
cation and determination, she has consistently assured and found that
donor turnout at each drive exceeds expectations; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sue Delp for receiving the Exceptional Volunteer Service Award
from the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sue Delp.
