LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Detective Shawn Bosi upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Community Service Award from the
Pine Avenue Business Association

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Detective Shawn Bosi has given not only of his time and ener-
gies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Detective
Shawn Bosi upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Community Service Award from the Pine Avenue Business Association to be
celebrated at its Annual Directors' Dinner Dance on Saturday, March 7,
2009, at Antonio's Restaurant, Banquet and Conference Center, Niagara
Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, Detective Shawn Bosi began his career with the Niagara Falls
Police Department in March of 2000; through the course of his career, he
began in patrol, and accepted a position in the Weed and Seed program in
2005; and
WHEREAS, From 2006 to 2008, Detective Bosi served as a member of the
Emergency Response Team; in 2007, he was assigned to Community Relations
and Office of Professional Standards as Detective; and
WHEREAS, Detective Shawn Bosi has been honored with several commenda-
tions for honorable and meritorious service within the Niagara Falls
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Detective Shawn Bosi has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Interacting with the community in such a personal way was
something Detective Bosi found rewarding, as he quickly learned how
educating the community and bridging the gap between officers and the
public is integral to decreasing crime; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Detective Shawn Bosi has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 13 years, Renee,
and their two children, Ashley and Joshua, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Detective Shawn Bosi has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Detective Shawn Bosi upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Community Service Award from the Pine Avenue Business
Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Detective Shawn Bosi, Niagara Falls, New York.
